SCCS will host Mr. Burnett at the Lutheran Church next door as he speaks on protecting children from digital dangers. In a day and age where technology is a popular source of entertainment for children and teens, precautions must be taken. Scott will delve into the addictive nature of technological devices. Addiction or over use of technology can result in physical and emotional side effects such as agitation, anxiety and insomnia. We will learn about how much is too much.
Implementing new rules and guidelines, even small changes, can result in a happier more active child or teen. Scott will walk parents through ideas for phone/tablet/game system limits, security applications to install and devices that protect children from questionable internet sites. This important event will also cover the most used social media sites and the measures parents' should take in securing their child's online presence. The presentation will be followed by a time of question and answer. SCCS is proud to partner with parents to ensure safe screen time.
This seminar is open for all SCCS families and will follow our two-day spiritual focus for 7th-12th grade students on August 29-30th called NEXUS.
